Czech Republic Profile

The Czech Republic qualified for Austria and Switzerland by topping Group D ahead of Germany in what was a routine qualifying campaign.
They lost only one of their 12 qualifiers, 2-1 against Joachim Low's side in Prague in March 2007.
However, they responded by sealing their place in the finals with two games to spare by beating Germany 3-0 in Munich seven months later.
Four years ago the Czech Republic reached the semi-finals before being beaten by eventual winners Greece.
Earlier in the competition, they beat Denmark 3-0 in the quarter-finals after winning all three of their group matches against Latvia (2-1), the Netherlands (3-2) and Germany (2-1).
In 1996 the Czech Republic reached the Final in England before losing to Germany on the golden goal.
As Czechoslovakia, they won the 1976 competition by beating West Germany 5-3 on penalties after the final had ended 2-2.
