First-choice central defender who has progressed through the ranks from Under-17 to full international in the space of five years. The 27-year-old stopper has reaffirmed his importance to the national side with an impressive first season with Galatasaray, where he made almost 50 appearances and chipped in with five goals. His scoring record suggests he is a threat at set-pieces, but he has registered only once in 21 international appearances. Cetin, who counts Fenerbahce among his former clubs, joined rivals Galatasaray on a free transfer from Sivasspor in August 2007.
