A surprise selection by coach Luis Aragones, Santiago Cazorla has been a mainstay of the Villarreal side who finished second in La Liga in the season just ended. The 23-year-old can play as an attacking midfielder or in support of the main striker, being noted for a creative touch with his left foot. Cazorla started his career with Villarreal, but rose to prominence during a one-year stint with Recreativo Huelva during the 2006-07 campaign. He returned to the Yellow Submarine a year ago and has maintained his excellent form to win a call-up as an uncapped player.
