The CSKA Moscow captain is often considered one of the highest skilled defenders in the Russian Premier League and has vast Champions League experience. The 28-year-old signed for CSKA in 2004 after a successful spell at Lokomotiv Moscow. Ignashevich made his international debut in 2002 and has more than 30 international caps, and was a prominent figure in Russia's successful qualifying campaign for Euro 2008, playing in ten of the eleven qualifiers, including both matches against England.
