Vladimir Gabulov made his international debut in a friendly against Poland in August 2007 and played in Russia's last three qualifiers for Euro 2008, including the 2-1 victory against England in October 2007. The 24-year-old started his career at FC Mozdok and after a disappointing spell at FC Dynamo Moscow he signed for Alania Vladikavkaz in 2001. In 2003 he signed a five-year contract with CSKA Moscow, but was overshadowed by Igor Akinfeev and only made three appearances in his three years at the club. Gabulov currently plays for FC Amkar Perm, having signed for the Russian Premier League outfit in January from FC Kuban Krasnodar.
