The 25-year-old right-back started his career at Krylia Sovetov Samara, making his Russian Premier League debut against his current club Zenit St Petersburg in October 2000. With St Petersburg he has won the Russian Premier League and has played a major role in their 2007-08 UEFA Cup campaign. The defender made his international debut in 2004 and played in Russia's final match of Euro 2004, against Greece. Anyukov has become first-choice right-back under Guus Hiddink and played in 11 of Russia's Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.
