The versatile 26-year-old spent the 2007-08 campaign with Boavista but, following the club's enforced relegation, agreed a deal with Benfica for next season. The younger brother of Maniche, Jorge Ribeiro made his Portugal debut in November 2002 but dropped out of the international scene when his form dipped. He was called up as a replacement for the injured Jose Boswinga for the qualifier against Azerbaijan in October 2007 but the former Dynamo Moscow player is unlikely to see much action this summer.
