Experienced full-back who is likely to be taking part in his final major tournament for the Azzurri. The 35-year-old AS Roma defender has been on the international scene for well over a decade but has won just over 50 caps after frequent spells in the wilderness. Panucci is appearing in only his second European Championship finals and was used sparingly, only three times, during the 12-game qualification campaign. However, he remains a steady and reliable right-back who may feel he has a point to prove after being omitted from the 2006 World Cup winning squad due to an uneasy relationship with former coach Marcello Lippi. The veteran defender scored six times during 33 appearances in all competitions for Roma this season.
