The pacy right winger was omitted from the original 23-man squad for the 2006 World Cup finals but got his chance when veteran midfielder Vladimir Smicer was unable to shake off a persistent thigh problem. However, he made only one substitute appearance for the Czech Republic in Germany, against Ghana. The 31-year-old won his first senior international cap against Poland in 1999 and made his name at club level with Banik Ostrava before going on to enjoy successful spells with Sparta Prague, Grazer AK and Austria Vienna. He spent the 2006-07 season at Rangers before agreeing a transfer to FC Copenhagen last summer.
