Fenerbahce appoint Aragones
Turkish side Fenerbahce have confirmed that they have agreed a provisional two-year contract with Spain coach Luis Aragones.
The 69-year-old manager will replace Zico at the Sukru Saracoglu when Euro 2008 finishes.
The announcement puts to an end any lingering speculation about Aragones' future.
He had been forced to deny that he was staying on as Spain coach after guiding his country to the semi-finals in Austria and Switzerland.
"Our club has made a two-year preliminary contract with Luis Aragones, who is currently the technical director of the Spain national team, to be our soccer coach in the new season," said a statement from Fenerbahce.
Zico has been in charge of the Istanbul-based side for the last two seasons and guided the club to the Champions League quarter-finals last term before they lost to Chelsea.
