Gio ponders Oranje exit

Veteran full-back Giovanni van Bronckhorst is considering international retirement following Netherlands' quarter-final exit at the hands of Russia.

The 33-year-old former Arsenal, Barcelona and now Feyenoord wing-back was part of the starting line-up for the surprise 3-1 defeat in Basel on Saturday.

"I'm really disappointed at the moment," said the 81 times capped international.

"It's clear that I need some time to think about it."

Meanwhile, Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has vowed to continue his own international career.

"To be honest, it is not even an issue for me," he said. "As long as nothing strange happens, I will be available."
