Piturca eyes Romania reprise

Romania coach Victor Piturca has urged his side to repeat their qualifying feat against Netherlands and book their place in the quarter-finals with a victory in Berne.

Romania held the Dutch to a goalless draw on the road and were 1-0 winners on home soil during qualifying for Euro 2008.

Another victory against the already confirmed winners of Group C on Tuesday evening would secure a place in the last eight and eliminate much-fancied France and Italy from the tournament.

"We absolutely need a win," admitted Piturca. "We are probably playing the team in the greatest shape in this final tournament so our concentration will be decisive.

"We know Holland well and we also know how much we suffered to get those four points (in qualifying) against them.

"The Dutch have to care about their own interest, we have to care about ours and we will see what happens.

"It is obvious the Dutch players who have not played yet will want to show they are valuable players."
